This category is for items or pets that have at least one variant where a golden 'Rare' tag appears on their icon in inventories and Trading windows. This tag also appears on the Adoption Certificate for pets. Most of the 'rare' items come from the weekly shopping event known as Rare Item.
The Pet Seal was released in December 2016. It was part of a special promo, only obtainable by redeeming a code that came with an Adopt A Pet Treasure Chest. Specifically, the pet that you needed to adopt was named Shimmerway, and it came with the special Pet Seal code.
Animal Jam Pet Seals Actions & Special Abilities
Pet Seals are unique when it comes to their actions and special abilities. Not only can they perform them on land, they also have special underwater actions and abilities. Let’s take a closer look at what the Pet Seals can do!
Land Abilities
The Sit ability will make the seal sit upright, and nothing else.
The Play ability makes the seal whip out its saxophone and play it, animated notes flying around as it does so.
The Dance ability makes the seal wave its flippers up in the air.
The Sleep ability makes the seal lay down and sleep, animated Z’s floating around.
The Hop ability makes the seal jump up and down on the spot.
Underwater Abilities
The Pose ability makes the seal curve its body towards the player.
The Dance ability makes the seal push its paws up into the air, going back and forth with its body.
The Dive ability makes the seal dive down, and then come back up.
The Swirl ability makes the seal swim around the player.
The Play ability makes the seal push itself back from the player, then move back towards the player.
How to Get Pet Seals in AJ
The only way you were able to obtain the Pet Seal was by entering the code that came with the Shimmerway pet. However, there are other ways. Let’s take a look!
Trading
The Pet Seal is among the rarest pets in Animal Jam. You will be able to find Jammers that own the seal, and they might want to trade with you. If they do, you need to be willing to part ways with rare and unique items of your own, or else they won’t trade with you.

The pets that you can only get by redeeming a number of codes in Animal Jam are extremely rare. The main reason for that being that the codes only come with specific toys, and those toys cost real money. The Pet Firefly is one of those extremely rare pets.

Pet Firefly Actions & Special Abilities
As stated above, we are going to see what the Pet Firefly can do in terms of actions and special abilities. The pet can do the following actions;
The sit ability makes it land on the ground, while still flapping its tiny wings.
The play ability makes it tap on three small flowers, which appear underneath the pet.
The dance ability makes it swirl back and forth.

The sleep ability makes it close its eyes, and bob up and down slightly. Animated Z’s appear as well.
Lastly, the hop ability makes it fly upwards, remain there for a moment, and then fly downwards really quickly. It goes back to its original position.
How to Get a Pet Firefly in Animal Jam
Obtaining the Pet Firefly in Animal Jam will be a hard task. You either need to purchase fifteen Jazwares toys and redeem the codes that come with those toys, or you need to find someone that would trade their Pet Firefly with you. Here is what you can do to obtain the Pet Firefly.
Trading
If you are not willing to spend real money on Jazwares toys, your next option would be to trade for the Pet Firefly. However, it is very unlikely for you to find a Jammer that actually would want to trade their pet with you, since it’s extremely rare. You could always try to offer some of your own rare and valuable items in return, which will increase your odds.
